Keeping Our Sanity During Baby's First Year

Week 6: A Pea in the Pod!

Wow, people have time on their hands. Click on the picture if you want the pattern.

This week, our baby is the size of a .25 inch small pea. Our little pea will triple in size this week (!) and basic facial features like eyes and ears are developing (!!) and his/her heart is starting to pump (!!!)

I am obviously not showing yet and I haven’t gained any weight. I have backaches, fatigue and sore breasts but I’m not experiencing anything else. The weeks are dragging by. I feel like I’m stuck in “hurry up and wait” mode until I can see my doctor on the 28th.

I’ve already arranged a dinner with our closest friends for the weekend after we see the doctor. It will be 9 weeks by that time and we plan to tell our close friends and family at that time.

Before the dinner, I am going to figure out a way to disable my Facebook so people can’t see any posts on my wall. We aren’t officially “going public” until 12 weeks so I need to make sure our friends don’t post congrats on our wall. I mainly don’t want work finding out yet and I also don’t want random people who I haven’t seen in years asking me how the baby is in the event (God forbid) something happens before the first trimester is over. Let’s hope we can keep the secret contained.
