Keeping Our Sanity During Baby's First Year

January Shape Up – Part 2

I said I would report back on how my efforts to shape up are going. I have been going to the gym every other day and running about 3 miles and doing various weight exercises for my arms and legs. I am also trying to stick to a 1700-2000 calorie diet given I am still breastfeeding and exercising.

After a week and a half, I can report that I have lost….

…. 0 lbs! :( Oh well. I do feel better but I don’t feel like my clothes are any looser or like I am any closer to wearing normal pants. I am still rocking the maternity jeans. I think I am going to breakdown today and go buy some regular jeans that fit me. It feels like a defeat but I am not too upset about it.

How can I be when I have such cuteness to blame for the extra weight??

  1. You look great! So skinny! Yeah, having maternity leave over the holidays did NOT help me loose any baby weight. Arg! I also broke down in mid-January and bought some regular pants that fit so that I didn’t have to wear maternity stuff any more. Then… just a few weeks later, I was able to squeeze back into my pre-preggo pants. Phew. The baby weight does fall off eventually…

    • Thanks. I’m haven’t lost everything yet but at least I can see progress!

      • Yup, I think these last few pounds will be sticking around with me for a while. You’re so good to be working out regularly! I haven’t figured out how to get regular workouts into my new mom life yet. So far just a few walks and jogs here and there.

      • As much as you’re going to hate to hear this, the only way he’s going to learn to sleep in His crib is if you lay down and let HIM HIM cry it out. The first 2 or 3 times will be very upsetting to you, but I guenartae he’ll learn after A Few times he will not get picked up and he’ll When He cries fall asleep. That Happens When I know you’ll be glad you did it. Trust me I have 3 kids and 1 grandchild. Hang in there Mom

  2. My developer is trying to convince me to move to .
net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses.
But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on numerous websites for about a year and am worried
about switching to another platform. I have heard excellent things about blogengine.
net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
